Mar 03, 2010 Hey guys, I have a question for anyone who has used Rygel's texture mod for Crysis Warhead. I can't figure out how to install it. The readme poorly says to put the.pak files included into the.
Piotrl wrote:I have a flashing rocks textures at the entrance to the beach. On the left side. You have to look at rocks from a distance to see error. I'm having the same problem, but only when I use a different nanosuit skin. The framerate also dropped down to unplayable levels. Are these packs compatible with other ones? Update - Before installing all the mods, I made a back up of the original files.
I took off all the mods and put the original files back in and saw no performance increase - on vanilla, I'm running at a pretty solid 60 fps w/settings at max. I then uninstalled the game and deleted any folders that lingered behind. After reinstalling - still no change. I did some searching online and downloaded CCleaner to update the.dll files. Everything is working fine now.
I've had similar issues with Windows 10 in the past where files were getting saved in the 'AppData' folder. I don't know if that's what occurred here, but CCleaner fixed the problem. Everything is done in order to leave the original 'atmosphere' of the original of 2007, but with higher quality textures; - Now, attention is to minor layers of textures, in particular improved 'Bump' (bump) or '.ddn' - components that give a flat textures larger volume; I'm not trying to be overly critical because this is one of the best graphical improvements I've seen for the game but the nanosuit visors, laser lights and sniper scope lense have changed to green. Is there anyway to change this? I love everything else you've done, but in particular would prefer to change these to look closer to how they were before.
That being said, there were still a few bugs I encountered: - Extreme blur. This seems to only happen when the motion blur is set at 'Very High' but changing it to any other setting corrected the problem. It seems the motion blur setting was also affecting the DoF.
Reflex Sight glitch. When using this attachment and aiming down the sights, the surround environment blacked out. This went away when I used the 'Nanosuit Ultra Customization Pack' by Chrome235. As I said before, I think your mod has some of the best updates to the graphics to date.
However, I prefer the nanosuit visor, laser sight, cross hairs and 'strength' ability to be red. This caused me to try out the other suit mod which also happened to fix the graphics glitch I was getting with the reflex sight. The thing is, I actually prefer your nanosuit with the exception of the color scheme. Anyway, it would be nice to have this fixed, but as it stands I think you've done a great job. Below are some screenshots I took of the errors I was getting.
I'm running the 64 bit/DX10 version of the game on Windows 10. Extreme Blur - Reflex Sight Glitch.

It really does look amazing. I've been a fan of Crysis since it came out and have tried dabbling in modding, but a lot of the changes I would like to make are over my head.
As far as the graphics go, you've done a lot of what I've wanted to see for a long time. The water, rocks, plants, guns, etc.
All look top notch. My only complaint was that I wanted to keep your nanosuit and gun textures because I think they produced a more uniform graphical style, but I also prefer the original color of the visor, sniper scope and laser lights. Because I'm picky though, I swapped out the nanosuit which by chance fixed the other glitch I was getting.
I'm not sure why it corrected the issue, but I figured it might be helpful to you (and others) if you make any changes/updates. I still think this is best the game has ever looked though, so please don't take the questions about the nanosuit the wrong way.
On that note, I also tried your mods on Warhead and was getting an error from the shader pack (pic below) that caused some of the textures to turn blue. I tried using your autoexec.cfg settings, but I was still getting the error.
I assumed they were for Crysis though and I haven't had time to mess around with it too much, but I'll try again tomorrow on a fresh install. Even without the shaders, the object and texture quality already look much better - again great job and thanks for replying.
Here's the pic of the shader error I mentioned. Files in the archive CrysisHDTextures2016.zip are updated periodically. Download link remains unchanged. You are the man! I downloaded your new textures and tried them with Crysis. Everything is working perfectly - I'm no longer getting the graphics artifacts with the shaders. If anyone is going to looking to enhance the graphics on Crysis, this should be their first choice. I think this is not only the best Crysis has ever looked, but everything is in one package and very easy to install. Thanks for doing this, it really is amazing work. I also sent you a P.M.
